Season so close

10/03/2015 12:02

The season is extremely close now and I am excited to get started. First event is at West Lancashire GC on the 19th and preperation is in progress. Some great work has been put in over the past few months with my team and technical aspects with John Eyre are forever improving. It would be great to see the results come out of the hard work this year. Its a busy schedule for the 2015 season and its the time of year where it comes around very quickly. Thanks for everyone's support and I look forward to a successful year!

I am extremely excited about the upcoming season and it would be fantastic to see some of you guys there! Again, a huge thank you for your support and lets look forward to a successful 2015 season. i have huge plans for the year which i will share with you through my monthly blog.

The first session of 2015

09/01/2015 16:32

I had the first range session of 2015 this morning with John Eyre. A great morning on the range with very little to work on. Im starting to get back into the hard practice and a little bit of work with john this morning proved that the mirror work over the past few months has really paid off. while I've been working more than golfing over the last 3/4 months I haven't had much time to practice the technical aspects of my game so I tend to resort to mirror work and my putting mat at home. It's a great way to keep my game sharp over the winter months. I'm feeling quite confident in my swing at the minute and that just goes to show, you dont have to hit thousands of balls to do it!

More progress of both fitness and technical work coming soon.

Winter 4BBB at St Annes Old Links

16/12/2014 18:51

Well its been quite a while since I played a competitive round now, but what a nice change it was to play St Annes Old Links yesterday! Apart from the bitterly cold down poor on the 7th hole, I enjoyed the day on the course. It was great to get the chance to play and I hit the ball quite well. A few aspects need sharpening up through the next few months before the season but as a whole I was happy with the way I hit the ball and really enjoyed it. I havnt had much chance to play much golf over the past month or so due to work commitments but I will be making more time for golf after Christmas and I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Dont forget my schedule will be announced shortly after Christmas so take a look to follow my journey!

Winter Fitness

22/11/2014 20:37

Now it's coming upto Christmas I have really started hitting the gym hard! It always seems to be the time of year where I get into fitness again. Its also the time of year where work tends to take the golf a little more and while im working 7 days a week at the moment its a struggle to fit everything else in. Having said that, I feel like im back in a good place after a little down spell not too long ago and I can not wait to get back into the golfing season. Once Christmas is over with I will be starting to get my practice schedule and tournament schedule together and you guys will be the first to see it! Visit my blog for more updates and my tour schedule will also be downloaded very soon!

Winter plans

08/08/2014 10:04

Coming off the back of The Open Qualifying,  I have been filled with confidence going into recent competitons. Patience has had to be the key word throughout this year as every week seems to be closer and closer to a win. I believe that me and my coaches can work together to achieve success but I need to stay patient and work hard until that comes. Work with John Eyre is progressing and a few swing changes are started to feel a lot more comfortable.

Its getting to that time of the year where I focus hard on my fitness but this year could be slightly different. I would love to compete all year round which means a winter tour abroad. What a great way to keep my game going. Instead of working hard to try and get my game in shape for the start of the season, keep the season going all year round.

At the minute, work is starting to take over but this winter tour could just save me from a winter of shop keeping and building in between practice and fitness.

Keep following for more updates and progress of the following month.

Possitive push towards Open Q

16/06/2014 19:31

Its been an eventful month and I feel confident that improvements are being made. With new equipment now in my bag im sure I can have a strong second half to the season. My stroke average is 1 shot better than last year which gives me bags of confidence to reach my goal of a stroke average of 72. Continual work with my coach John Eyre and psychology coach Duncan McCarthy is building my on and off course performance week after week. Over all I am pleased with where my game is at going into The Open qualifying at Mere next Monday. With just one competitive round before then, I am working hard to make practice as competition based as possible all week and pre competition prep will start 3 days prior as usual.

I give my thanks again for the support and I look forward any feedback!

One step at a time and confidence is growing!

20/05/2014 14:27

Six events into the season and my game seems to be easing into competitive golf nicely. Three top ten finishes gives me confidence week after week as I seek out that first win. I have worked hard all winter on my technical game, my mental game and my fitness but I would like to improve my fitness further as I think I would benefit massively from this whilst competing. I'm currently waiting for a new set of clubs to arrive so I have to knuckle down in the next few weeks to get the grip of the change in distance. I feel very excited for the rest of the season and having confidence in the clubs I have in my bag is where it starts. I continue to prepare for the next event at Moortown by continuing with my fitness routine and healthy eating whilst gaining more and more hours playing golf on the course. I feel that spending time on the course is massive for the improvement of my game I also feel like my planning is ten times better this year as it was last year so all in all I'm relatively pleased with the way things are going. Step by step with my coaches and the people around me I can get to the next level!

Exciting season ahead!

04/04/2014 08:57

The 2014 season is finally here after a tough winter battling the weather. I am excited to see severe improvements throughout the next few weeks as I work my way back into it. The next event is an 1836 Tour event at Ilkley and I'm looking forward to getting out there. A great amount of time and effort has been put into my game this winter both on the course and off the course. I have spent quite a lot of time working with Duncan McCarthy of Ignite Sports throughout the winter and we have set out a realistic yet challenging plan for the season. It's come to the time of year where I'm itching to get on the course and perform competitively and the next few rounds are vital for building confidence for the season. I am also very pleased to have Heritage Cashmere on board for 2014 and I am excited to get out there and look the part whilst performing. I will be keeping my blog up to date throughout the year so you can follow me and my progress. Images and blogs will be posted on my website frequently so do not hesitate to take a look and thank you for your support.

Winter training

30/11/2013 20:57

Now the winter programme has finally come together and is underway I am much happier. work with Duncan is growing and improving and I am looking forward to the season ahead. The next season always seems to creap up faster than I expect so getting straight into the thick of my preperation asap is vital. Various games and challenges have been put in place for this winter such as pitching, putting, chipping challenges and also gym challenges. I see improving my mental and physical state on and off the golf course just as exciting as performing so having all these little challenges in place is exactly what i need to stay motivated through this cold freezing weather.
